Polyclinic Maletić was founded in 1998 by Duško Maletić, MD, MSc, a specialist in surgery and urology, and Ines Maletić, MD, a specialist in anesthesiology, reanimatology and intensive care. Today the clinic is led by their daughter, Ana Maletić, MD, PhD, a specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
In Zagreb and Daruvar, Croatia, we bring together aesthetic surgery, laser medicine and hair loss treatment. The decision to operate comes only after a medical examination, an assessment of the indication, and an individual conversation about what a procedure can — and cannot — achieve.

Our philosophy
We start with diagnostics and assess whether there is a medical indication for a procedure. Then we talk about what you would like — and what is realistically possible in your case. We decide to go ahead only once we have established that a procedure is needed and appropriate.
There is a medical reason for that order. An aesthetic procedure is a medical procedure, with indications, limitations and possible complications, so the decision rests on your medical history, an examination and clinical findings. During the examination we explain what a procedure can achieve — and where its limits are.
Some patients leave the examination without a recommendation for surgery. When a procedure is not indicated, we explain why and, where appropriate, suggest monitoring, a simpler treatment or another suitable option.

Education
An education center for physicians from other countries
In 2008, laser manufacturer Fotona chose Polyclinic Maletić as its education center for laser procedures in aesthetic surgery. Since then, surgeons from the United Kingdom, Italy, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Turkey, Israel, Russia and other countries have been coming to Zagreb and Daruvar to train in these procedures. The new Daruvar premises also include a lecture hall with a live feed from the operating room.
Some of the methods taught today grew out of the clinic's own clinical work. In 2004, the clinic was among the first in Croatia to introduce Aptos rejuvenation procedures; in 2008, the first laser varicose vein surgery in Croatia was performed here and laser lipolysis was introduced. The laser-assisted double chin liposuction method was developed by Duško Maletić, MD, MSc, who presented it at the International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine in Paris in 2012.
Since 1998, the clinic has been built by a family of physicians, together with the members of the professional team who share in its everyday work.
