Laser education center since 2008 · Zagreb and Daruvar, Croatia
The Maletić Polyclinic Laser Center
The Maletić Polyclinic Laser Center brings together non-invasive laser treatments and laser surgery in Zagreb and Daruvar, Croatia. Since 2008 we have served as an education center in cooperation with the Fotona Laser & Health Academy, training physicians from other countries. Every treatment begins with a physician’s assessment of the indication, the realistic result and the possible limitations.

Assessment before any procedure
During the consultation, the physician assesses whether a laser is the right method — or whether another approach would give you a better result.
A physician’s assessment before any laser procedure
Laser technology does not work the same way for every indication, or on every skin. Before a treatment or surgery, the physician assesses whether a laser is the right method, which wavelength and parameters to use, and what result you can realistically expect.
That assessment comes before the entire range of procedures at the Laser Center, from skin treatments to laser vein surgery. The plan is set according to your medical findings, the condition of the tissue and the goal of the procedure.
Why trust us
A laser education center since 2008
Our cooperation with Fotona dates back to 2008, when the Polyclinic became an official education center in cooperation with the Fotona Laser & Health Academy. Surgeons and dermatologists from the United Kingdom, Italy, the USA, Canada, Brazil, Turkey, Israel, Russia and other countries come to Zagreb and Daruvar for laser procedure training.
Daruvar is home to a training hall with live broadcasts of procedures from the operating room, which lets course participants follow real clinical work as it happens. Our physicians also take part in Fotona’s international meetings dedicated to laser medicine.
The people behind it
Who stands behind the laser
Laser treatments and surgery at the Maletić Polyclinic are performed by a team of physicians from different specialist fields. All three take part in Fotona Laser & Health Academy training programs as Expert Clinical Lecturers.
Equipment
The lasers we use
At the Maletić Polyclinic we work exclusively with Fotona lasers. Depending on the indication, we use Er:YAG, Nd:YAG and Q-switched lasers, which differ in wavelength, depth of action and the type of tissue the energy is directed at. Some procedures use a single laser; others combine different wavelengths.
We have used the Nd:YAG laser in laser lipolysis and skin tightening procedures since 2008. Er:YAG and Nd:YAG are used together in 4D laser facial tightening, while tattoo removal combines a Q-switched laser with Er:YAG skin preparation.
The same devices and methods are used in the education programs the Polyclinic runs in cooperation with the Fotona Laser & Health Academy.
Experience
Laser methods we have pioneered since 2008
Mario Bartol performed the first laser varicose vein surgery in Croatia in 2008, and has since performed more than six hundred such operations. That same year, the Polyclinic was among the first in Croatia to apply the Nd:YAG laser in laser lipolysis and skin tightening.
Duško Maletić, MD, MSc, developed his own method of laser-assisted double chin liposuction with tightening of the skin of the lower third of the face and neck, and presented it at the international aesthetic medicine congress in Paris in 2012. The method is now used beyond Croatia as well.
Honesty first
When a laser is not the right solution
Because the Laser Center brings together non-invasive treatments and surgical procedures, the method can be chosen to fit your findings — not one type of device. A laser is not appropriate when another method can give a better result, when there is no clear indication, or when the risk would outweigh the expected benefit.
With pronounced excess skin, for example, laser tightening cannot achieve what surgical removal of that excess can. After the examination, our recommendation may therefore be a laser procedure, a different method — or no procedure at all, just follow-up.
“If we judge that a patient does not actually need a certain procedure, we will say so openly.” — Ana Maletić, MD, PhD, interview for Gloria, April 2026
Treatments and surgery
Laser treatments and surgery
Laser treatments
Laser skin treatments are performed without surgical incisions, but their intensity and recovery differ. The number of sessions and the approach are set according to the condition of your skin and the goal of the therapy.
4D Laser Tightening of Face, Neck & Décolletage
A four-step treatment with Er:YAG and Nd:YAG lasers, one step of which is performed from the inside of the mouth. It works at different depths of the skin without surgical incisions, and you return to your usual routine quickly.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation
A fractional Er:YAG treatment for uneven texture, sun damage, fine lines and acne scars. The depth and number of passes are adjusted to the problem being treated and the condition of the skin.
Laser Fibroma & Skin Tag Removal
Laser removal of soft skin growths, usually in a single visit. The lesion is removed without stitches, with limited effect on the surrounding skin.
Laser Keratosis Removal
Er:YAG removal of benign keratoses confirmed by a physician’s examination. The lesion is removed layer by layer, with minimal involvement of the surrounding skin.
Laser Hair Removal
Long-term reduction of hair growth on the face and body. The number of sessions depends on the area, the color and thickness of the hair, and your skin type.
Laser Capillary & Spider Vein Removal
Laser closure of dilated surface vessels on the face and legs. The energy is directed into the vessel itself, with cooling to protect the surface of the skin.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Gradual breakdown of pigment with a Q-switched laser, with Er:YAG skin preparation. The number of sessions depends on the colors, depth and amount of pigment.
Laser Stretch Mark Removal
A laser treatment that stimulates collagen renewal to soften the texture and color of stretch marks. How much improvement is realistic depends on the age, color and depth of the stretch marks.
Laser Scar Removal
Laser softening of atrophic and hypertrophic scars through an individually planned series of treatments. The approach is set according to the type, depth and age of the scar.
Laser Hyperpigmentation Removal
A laser treatment for pigment deposits, including sun and age spots. The type and nature of the pigmented lesion are assessed before treatment.
Laser Wart Removal
Laser removal of warts on different parts of the body, including plantar warts. A single session is often enough, without surgical cutting.
Laser Skin Tightening
Controlled heating of the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and improve firmness. Intended for mild to moderate laxity; pronounced excess skin calls for a different approach.
Laser surgery
Minimally invasive laser procedures whose extent, type of anesthesia and recovery differ by indication. Before surgery, we assess your health, your findings and whether the method suits you at all.
Laser Varicose Vein Surgery
Endovenous laser closure of the insufficient vein under ultrasound guidance, under local tumescent anesthesia. The vein is closed from the inside without classic surgical stripping, and most patients return to work within a few days.
Double Chin Laser Liposuction
Laser-assisted removal of fat under the chin with stimulated tightening of the neck skin, through entry points a few millimeters wide. The method was developed by Duško Maletić, MD, MSc, and presented at the aesthetic medicine congress in Paris in 2012.
Pilonidal Sinus Laser Surgery
Laser treatment of the pilonidal sinus through an opening up to 5 mm wide, in a procedure lasting about 30 minutes. No large surgical wound or prolonged dressing changes — you return to your activities within a few days.
Laser Treatment for Excessive Sweating
Laser reduction of sweat glands in the underarm area through small entry points. The goal is a lasting reduction of sweating, unlike temporary methods that have to be repeated.
Laser Lipolysis & Liposuction
Laser-assisted liposuction by body area, with a thermal effect that can contribute to skin tightening. Vibrating cannulas remove the fat tissue, and the laser can add a skin-tightening effect.
Procedure prices are listed in the price list. The final plan is set after the examination, because the choice of method, the number of sessions and the total cost all depend on your findings.

What our patients say
Reviews taken from our Google Business profiles, Zagreb and Daruvar.
★★★★★
“Since high school I watched the double chin I inherited from my father become more and more pronounced — and 15 years later, it is gone. A big thank you to Dr. Maletić and the whole team for granting my wish. The procedure was painless, as was the recovery, and the results were visible within a few days. The entire team was exceptionally kind and cheerful, and the atmosphere very pleasant. I left the polyclinic satisfied, and when the swelling went down two days later and I saw the double chin was gone, my satisfaction knew no bounds. I warmly recommend the Maletić Polyclinic.”

Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
Is laser treatment safe?
Laser treatments carry possible side effects and risks. Their safety depends on the correct indication, the choice of wavelength and parameters, and the experience of the person performing the treatment. Before any procedure, the physician assesses the condition of your skin or your medical findings, your health circumstances and possible contraindications.
Does a laser treatment or surgery hurt?
The sensation depends on the type and intensity of the treatment. Milder treatments may feel warm or sting slightly, while deeper procedures are performed with anesthetic cream, local anesthesia or another appropriate form of anesthesia. Laser vein and pilonidal sinus surgery are performed under local anesthesia, and the expected sensation and recovery are explained to you before the procedure.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of sessions depends on the procedure, the area and your initial findings. Fibromas and some warts are often removed in a single visit, while laser hair removal, tattoo removal and more extensive capillaries require several sessions. An approximate plan is set at the consultation and adjusted, if needed, according to how the tissue responds.
When is a laser not the right solution?
A laser is not appropriate when another method can give a better result, when the findings do not match the indication, or when the risk of the procedure would outweigh the expected benefit. For example, with pronounced excess skin, laser tightening cannot replace surgical removal of that excess.
Do you perform laser procedures in both cities?
Yes — laser treatments and surgery are performed in both Zagreb and Daruvar, following the Maletić Polyclinic’s protocols. Daruvar is also home to the training hall with live broadcasts of procedures from the operating room.
Which lasers do you use?
We work exclusively with Fotona lasers, which we have used in clinical practice and physician training since 2008. Depending on the procedure, we use Er:YAG, Nd:YAG and Q-switched lasers, individually or in combination.
